Curtain falls on Myanmar's army-led parliament

Naypyidaw, Myanmar – Myanmar’s pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi applauded the armed forces-stacked parliament on its ultimate day in place of business Friday, as one-time enemies welcomed a transition with a purpose to loosen the army’s 50-year grip on energy.

After a de-mob satisfied closing session for sitting MPs, Suu Kyi congratulated her political opponents on “opening the highway” for her party, which gained a landslide in November elections.
