(CNN) — After days of anti-executive protests in Haiti, the united states’s prime minister is resigning.

Laurent Lamothe introduced his resignation Saturday night time, the u . s . a .’s Ministry of Communications mentioned on Twitter.

“I leave the position of high minister this night with a sense of accomplishment,” Lamothe stated in a televised speech.

The resignation comes after violent anti-executive protests calling for elections and for both Lamothe and President Michel Martelly to step down.
