Myanmar arrests leader of Saffron Revolution on immigration charges: Media

YANGON – Myanmar has arrested a former monk and leader of a 2007 rebellion on grounds of illegally crossing the border, media mentioned on Wednesday, spotlighting the issue of political prisoners that faces Aung San Suu Kyi’s incoming government.

Nyi Nyi Lwin, better referred to as Gambira, was once freed from jail throughout a 2012 common amnesty, a 12 months after Myanmar’s junta handed energy to a semi-civilian government, following Forty Nine years of direct rule of the southeast Asian nation.
