Nigeria: Army Dissociates Self From Planned Celebration of Boko Haram 'Success'

The Nigeria Military says it has nothing to do with a proposed solidarity rally being organised With The Aid Of some civil groups to celebrate the “successes” being finished over Boko Haram within the ongoing counterinsurgency operations in North East Nigeria.

the army said though the initiative may be borne out of sheer patriotism, the convey of cohesion might be bad as it’s capable of distracting the soldiers and the army authority.

The spokesman of the Nigerian Military, Sani Usman, said in a statement that The Public should reasonably remain extra vigilant at this an important stage of the fight.

His remark reads:

“The Attention of the Nigerian Military has been drawn to a lot of groups and folks celebrating the routing out and decimation of Boko Haram terrorists on our soil. A Lot as we thank them for that, it’s crucial to state that we do not begrudge such persons (and) their want to determine and associate themselves with this success.

“Alternatively, the Nigerian Army wishes to disassociate itself from such celebrations and team spirit rallies.

“We also would like to advice that they should tread with caution as this will be distractive to us. The Public are please informed that the terrorists are surreptitiously fanning out of their final enclaves in Sambisa to lead to havoc or are searching for refuge elsewhere.

“Therefore, there may be need for all to be more vigilant and security aware to enable us clear the remnants of these terrorists anywhere they may flee.

“We would like to reassure The General Public that We Will Be Able To stay professional and centered in clearing the remnants of those criminals on the Nigerian soil.”

A Gaggle that identified itself as North East Coalition Against Terrorism (NECAT) had not too long ago disclosed that it has concluded plans to carry a team spirit march in toughen of the soldiers .

The National Coordinator of the team, Yusuf Mshelizza, had written a letter, dated Wednesday, April 20, 2016, to President Muhammadu Buhari and the chief of Military Team Of Workers, declaring their unravel to carry a solidaity march in appreciation to the government and the Nigerian Army for returning peace to North Eastern States.

“We Will perpetually appreciate the Nigerian Military; we misplaced almost everything together with our houses, houses and lives due to the incessant killings and destruction of residences Through Boko Haram insurgents in the previous few years,” Mr. Mshelizza said.
