Pro-life student group wins settlement after professor tries to kick away chalk messages


A California professor who is seen on video seeking to censor Pro-Lifestyles Students drawing with sidewalk chalk has been ordered to endure First Amendment coaching and pay $17,000 on account of a district Courtroom agreement.

As part of the contract, in which Alliance Defending Freedom represented FSSL, Thatcher pays $1,000 to Tasy and $1,000 to another Student, Jesus Herrera, along with some attorneys’ fees. The professor can be required to bear First Amendment training to be provided by using ADF.

Thatcher told Fox News he received’t have to pay a penny out of his own pocket because the contract was once made through his insurance coverage company.

“I Did Not, whatsoever, admit to any wrongdoing,” Thatcher said. “I did agree to sit down via a coaching seminar as a result of I like to analyze others’ ideas and opinions.”

But Tasy said it’s no longer concerning the money.

“The essential thing is that Dr. Thatcher won’t have the ability to interfere with our expressive activities again,” she said.
