Shannon Lumbra Wins Twice As Georgia Tech Falls to Alabama

Georgia Tech travelled to Tuscaloosa to race in opposition to Alabama on Saturday. The Alabama Ladies defeated Georgia Tech 191-106, whereas The Men beat the Yellow Jackets 199-99.

Girls’s Meet

The meet started out with Georgia Tech’s Maddie Paschal, Florina Ilie, Laura Branton, and Iris Wang successful the 200 medley relay in 1:Forty Four.19 to Alabama’s 1:Forty Four.23. Wang later took 2nd in each the 50 free (23.67) and One Hundred free (50.Fifty Eight). Chiara Ruiu positioned 2d within the 200 free (1:Fifty One.75) and third in the Four Hundred IM (4:28.24), while Alex Rieger (2:03.66) and Sara Gilbert (2:04.Seventy Two) went 2-3, respectively, within the 200 back. Diver Shannon Lumbra swept both diving events, profitable the 1m (290.90) and the 3m (293.60).

Males’s Meet

The Boys’s meet began with Brian Woodbury, Moises Loschi, Ben Southern, and Youssef Hammoud inserting 1/3 in the 200 medley relay (1:31.02). Southern later won the 200 fly (1:Forty Seven.Sixty Two) and took third within the A Hundred fly (49.15), while Loschi also received the 200 breast (2:00.31) and placed 2d in the Four Hundred IM (Four:00.42). Yuval Safra claimed first in the 1000 free (9:22.17), and diver Matt Casillas placed 2nd in the 3m (341.15).

Georgia Tech will compete once more next weekend after they host Emory on January 30.
