Strong 6.4-magnitude quake hits southwestern Japan


Tokyo – A Robust 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit Japan’s southwestern island of Kyushu on Thursday, however there was no risk of a tsunami, local authorities stated.

The quake struck at 9:26 pm (1226 GMT) in Kumamoto, significant Kyushu at a slightly shallow depth of 10 kilometres (6.2 miles), the Japan Meteorological Agency stated.

The earthquake was felt all the way through the southwestern island of Kyushu, Company data showed, as media mentioned that shinkansen, or bullet, train provider was once halted.
