Uganda: American Found With Weapons in Kampala Detained At Nalufenya Over Terrorism

Government shops allegedly recovered on the dwelling of a US national, Paul Mathias Rogers in Bwebajja on Entebbe Highway.

Police say an American citizen who was once arrested in Kampala with an assortment of weapons at the weekend is going through prices of terrorism.

Police spokesman, Emilian Kayima, instructed journalists in Kampala that Rogers Paul Mathias, 57, presently detained at Nalufenya, a high profile detention facility in Jinja District was found in illegal possession of government retailers at his home in Bwebajja on Entebbe Road.

“We’re investigating instances under which this American possessed the weapons supposed to be with Military officers. We’re interrogating him to take note how he sneaked the deadly weapons into the united states of america,” Mr Kayima mentioned.

Mathias was arrested on Saturday in a police raid at his home after his spouse, Lillian Keitesi reported a case of home violence.

Keitesi accused her husband of torturing her and being in possession of firearms and a number of different bad weapons.

Shortly after his arrest, Kampala Metropolitan Police commander, Commissioner Frank Mwesigwa stated they searched at his home and located military uniforms, ammunitions and knives which are a reserve of defense force.

Police say they’re investigating the suspect on a couple of offences including unlawful possession of government stores.

In March remaining yr, Immigration officers at Entebbe World Airport confiscated a rifle he had introduced within the country illegally.

Police are also working with Immigration officers on any other case against the suspect after he was Discovered with expired passports.
