US investigates 3 groups linked to abduction of its citizens in Iraq

US intelligence companies are investigating the abduction of three Americans in Iraq, focusing on three teams linked to Iran, govt sources published the previous day.

Reuters quoted the sources announcing the groups being investigated are Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq (League of the Righteous), Kata’ib Hezbollah (Hezbollah Brigades) and the Badr Supplier.

Iraqi Minister of Defence Khaled Al-Obeidi stated that the three American Citizens were kidnapped by way of “an organised gang that includes out abductions and blackmail.”

Iraqi Top Minister Haider Al-Abadi said at an prior time yesterday that the three Americans “had been handiest missing” and that he strongly doubted Iran had any involvement within the matter.

However, Al-Obeidi explained: “Our investigation into the subject means that an organised gang monitored their actions to a selected house, and that i consider this house is suspicious, and so they took them from this area. We can not decide whether or not
the gangs are Sunni or Shia, but they are gangs that specialise in abductions and blackmail.”

Spokesperson for the us State Division, John Kirby, said on Monday, “We acquired reports about three American Citizens lacking in Iraq. We Are working in full coordination and cooperation with the Iraqi authorities to locate and return them.”
