Nespresso is suing an Israeli competitor for hiring an actor that appears uncannily like George Clooney.

As he walks out, a voiceover says, “There’s nothing like a new espresso desktop.” Any Other man interrupts his moment to inform him, “Cease talking to your self, they’re towing your car.” Perplexed, the Clooney lookalike announces, “However wait — I left the automobile with the valet!” Unluckily, there is no valet, and he watches as his car is driven away on the back of a tow truck. The Opposite man then tells him that wouldn’t have happened if he had an Espresso Club computer at residence.

It ends with a tagline which roughly translates to “simply to drink espresso,” whereas Nespresso’s tagline is “Expertise a cup above.”

Nespresso is demanding that Espresso Membership pay $50,000 in damages and prevent airing the industrial.

Espresso Membership says the tongue-in-cheek advert and the Clooney persona were intended to focus on shoppers looking for a extra “informal” espresso Experience.
