Andy Reid responds to Tamba Hali's Twitter firestorm

Tamba Hali has issues with the Kansas Metropolis Chiefs.

The 33-year-old pass rusher unloaded on the crew all over a Saturday firestorm on Twitter, questioning if he was once nonetheless “needed in KC anymore” and later critiquing teammates on a podcast for skipping equipped staff actions.

“I’m not going to shy from it — I Feel it will be important, particularly if you’re on our staff and you might be one among our leaders — that you must be at all times there,” Hali Stated on Saturday’s Arrowheads Out Of The Country Podcast, per The Kansas City. “I Do Not want to say names, but I’ve Been there for [12 years] and I Haven’t missed one offseason with the Chiefs.”

Hali also referenced the Patriots — Kansas City’s Week 1 foe — on Twitter, writing: “Let Us Take A Look At the Super Bowl champs. I Am sure that they had A Hundred [percent] attendance for OTAS AND OFFSEASON [WORKOUTS] this yr. I [may be] incorrect.”

Hali refused to call names, but Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas Metropolis Megastar noted that a trio of Chiefs stars — safety Eric Berry, outdoor linebacker Justin Houston and cornerback Marcus Peters — ignored all of OTAs, while outdoor linebacker Dee Ford ignored a component of the offseason classes.

On Monday, Chiefs teach Andy Reid took time to respond to Hali’s criticism, pronouncing: “The Fact That the guy wants to get in the market and go, absolutely but let’s not do it through tweeting or whatever he did.”

Reid called Hali “the large brother of the crew” who “does all that stuff,” but stated the exercises are, at their core, “voluntary.”

“It Is something, as a tutor, It Can Be out of your fingers. You Wish To Have each person here. It Is a voluntary camp,” Reid Said. “Tamba appeared like an angry tutor there and he would not want to go there and do all that. Again these [guys] understand Tamba better [than] any one. Each workforce goes through this — there are guys there and not there and as a result of the voluntary a part of that. That’s What it is and we go with it.”

Stated Reid: “All three of those guys [Berry, Houston and Peters] are good avid gamers. Two are leaders and will continue to be leaders on the workforce. You Don’t Know [the] explanation why they weren’t here. You Do Not Know all these issues. It’s A Must To take a look at the big image of issues and see the way it works. Different guys are going to return in here and they’re going to be high quality.”

It Can Be price noting that Hali’s Twitter rant additionally touched on his sadness with barely seeing the field all over two video games final season towards the Steelers, saying: “Can someone provide an explanation for to me how I played Fifty Eight snaps in the first game [against the Chargers] when we made the best comeback in Chiefs historical past? Looking At both Steelers [games] from [the] sideline and enjoying 15 and seven [snaps] in the remaining game … I Am still misplaced.”

Hali cannot alternate the voluntary nature of offseason practices, however he is free to talk his thoughts — even when it ruffles feathers in Kansas Metropolis.

The larger query revolves round Hali’s sadness — and future — with the crew. Either this all will get swept below the rug or takes on a lifetime of its own when the Chiefs open camp on Thursday.
