Ljungberg could be handed with permanent managerial role at Arsenal

Arsenal’s interim boss Freddie Ljungberg is reportedly regarded as a genuine candidate to become the permanent manager of the north London side.

The Gunners ended their association with manager Unai Emery after seven winless games and Ljungberg was instantly handed with the caretaker role.

Ljungberg’s first game in the dugout was unimpressive as the Gunners only managed a 2-2 draw versus Norwich City, but it appears that the board are prepared to offer him with added time in the position.

According to Standard Sport, the Gunners’ hierarchy are aware that they may struggle to lure the best managers around at the midway stage of the season.

It is added that Ljungberg may remain in charge of the club for most of the campaign and has the chance to emerge as the leading candidate for the permanent role.
